About the Role and Your Responsibilities

In your role as the responsible educator, you will plan and conduct teaching, assess and document students' learning based on our governing documents.

You create opportunities for each student to develop and be motivated through a relational approach, clarifying pedagogy, and alternative and augmentative communication.

As a special educator in a class, you are part of a team, but also the pedagogical leader who distributes work and guides the teaching assistants you collaborate with. You work preventively to remove obstacles in various learning environments and to develop work related to support measures and adaptations for our students. When necessary, you provide support for students in personal care such as toilet visits and during meals.

You are part of a larger team with experienced teachers who together develop our operations. Your role includes collaborating with child and youth habilitation and other external actors.

We Are Looking For You

We are looking for a licensed preschool teacher or primary school teacher with a special education degree focusing on intellectual disabilities, who has a strong commitment to working with students in adapted primary school.

In addition to experience working with students with intellectual disabilities and NPF, you need to have knowledge of AAC and digital tools. Digital competence is now seen as a given and is particularly important in teaching in the adapted primary school. At our school, we work with iPads, Chromebooks, and Smartboards in our teaching.

You have a good understanding and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can apply these in your daily work. You have strong didactic and pedagogical abilities, allowing you to lead and organize work for the student(s) to create a conducive learning environment throughout the day. You are creative and can adapt your approach and pedagogical methods and techniques based on the needs of the student group. You develop the educational activities to be both inspiring and challenging.

We expect you to see each student from a holistic perspective and have a positive view of students. You are engaged in your work and operate based on the school's core values. You have good collaboration skills and build strong relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and external actors.

Fågelskolan, located in the western parts of Lund, is a K-9 school with a regular primary school and an adapted primary school with approximately 450 students. The adapted primary school is divided into age-mixed classes by stage and is locally integrated with the rest of the school.
